2023 Camper Review

"It’s the best decision I have ever made to come to this camp. I can’t wait to come next year!"

In this ever growing technological world, it can be easy for us to feel alone, behind, left out, or unsure of ourselves. We spend hours watching people we don’t know live the life we wish we were living. Completely forgetting that we have our own gifts and passions to explore and enjoy!!

You’ll get a chance to see who you are when you step away from work, home, substances, and technology. When was the last time you went 3 days without your phone? When was the last time you had genuine conversation with strangers? Tried something new and surprised yourself?

Our adult summer camp is for the person who is craving connection. Over the long weekend, you’ll get chances to play beloved summer camp games like dodgeball and capture the flag, attend workshops that will give you an opportunity to meet yourself on a deeper level than you have before, try new hobbies and crafts, and most importantly: meet and build and foster new friendships and community.

still not sure if this is for you?

the power of the "third place"

Do you wish there was somewhere you could meet awesome people that wasn’t on an app or at a bar? What you're seeking is a "third place".

As great as it is to be living in a world where you can connect with people halfway across the world online, nothing can beat connecting with people in physical places. It's where random, serendipitous conversations can happen. Key word: serendipitous. It's a place where all social classes mix, and everyone is welcome, regardless of their beliefs or lifestyle. As fewer millennials attend church or drink alcohol, traditional community spaces are leaving a gap.

That's where awc comes in - we're here to provide a substance and technology-free environment that fosters connection and community. Whether you're religious or not, sober or not, you're welcome here. Let's bring back some serendipity to our social lives.

*Camp tickets will cost around $250 per night, and that includes everything: a place to stay, food, photos, snacks, activities and workshops. We all know that most hotels or Airbnb rentals can cost even more per night, and they don't include all the perks like awc does. Our team is 100% volunteer-based. The ticket costs goes directly back into camp and your experience.

Trust us when we say that you won't need your phone (or any other device) at camp. When you arrive, we'll safely store your phone for the duration of your stay. By taking a break from your device, you're giving yourself a chance to escape from the constant distractions that come with technology. At awc, we intentionally maintain a substance-free atmosphere. Our aim is to foster a community where authentic connections, shared experiences, and the simple pleasures of being present take center stage. At camp, we prioritize your safety and well-being above all else. We recognize the gravity of having a dependable mode of communication during times of crisis, and we are committed to taking every precaution to guarantee your peace of mind.

We will supply you with a dedicated phone number throughout your stay, which you can share with your loved ones. This number will put them in direct contact with a staff member who will be accessible 24/7. In the event of an emergency, rest assured that we will be reachable and prompt in keeping you informed.

Your phone will be kept safely during camp with the awc team. During the weekend, your phone will be easily available to you if you need to check in with friends or family at home.
